The Pearl Voice: As some colleges revert to test-mandatory requirements, what do you think of standardized tests becoming mandatory?

"It makes it scary but also it makes me feel like I need to study more. I need to prepare myself more because I know I have to get ready for that."

"I think (tests) should be mandatory. But for some colleges, they should be an option because if the student does well in class and then fails on the test... Then just because of that score, they don't get into UC's or any colleges. That's a bad thing because they have the knowledge but the knowledge of a person is not checked by the score that they get."

"I think that it's really unfair to those who can't take tests that well because they may have good grades, but if these tests become mandatory it lowers their chances."

"I think it will push the other students to start taking these tests a bit more seriously. Unlike my grade, the tests weren't mandatory for colleges anymore, which made us, you know, not really care. I think it can be helpful (for colleges) but some people are pretty bad test takers."
