Festival season will be broadcasted on live streams
March 11, 2015
For some people, the chances of being able to drop everything and pack up for a music festival are slim to none. But not being able to go is no excuse to miss out on the once in a lifetime experience. Here’s how to bring festivals to you in a few easy steps.
1. Live streams
This is the common solution for many with good reason: live streams are an easy way to see what’s happening in real time. Finding a streaming site that works an individual is as easy as a Google search but keep firewalls and internet security up in the case of more obscure streaming services. IRocke and Yahoo Screen Live is a great place to start. Coachella will be streaming on SpaceLab.
2. Instagram
Checking hashtags for festival play-by-play can be depressing. But for discussing the latest news, keeping a log of the hashtags you care about can mean being informed of the latest news before even people who are on-location. The 15-second-long videos an act as a window to your favorite bands.
3. Bring Friends
Not to the festival but to Snapchat or Skype, wherever is convenient. Get some snacks and grab a live stream to keep up with. Then party hard with those who share your feels.
4. Party Hard
A major part of music festivals is meeting new people, camping out and joining block parties or finding a place to cool off from the adrenaline. Being isolated from that is as devastating as not being in the audience while watching a performance on live stream. The key is to pull a group together and celebrate on the other end. Treat it like the Super Bowl and plan. Make an event out of watching a festival and the distance between you and the festival gets much smaller.
