Online Editor-in-Chief Chris Bower, Editor-in-Chief Natalie Moore and former Editor-in-Chief Carlos Godoy attended the Los Angeles Press Club gala in downtown on June 29. The Pearl Post won second place for best high school newspaper for the second year in a row.
Also this summer, newspaper students Emon Abdullah, Jessica Mallari and Alex Pineda won Best News Story at 48th annual California Student Media festival for their video “Be More Heroic Comes to DPMHS” news story.
“Don’t Drink & Drive,” a short produced by DPMHS video production students, has been selected for the 2014 Burbank International Film Festival. The screening is on Sept. 6 at 10 a.m. at the AMC Town Center 6 Theaters (Theater #1).
