BRIEF: Cox Foundation awards camera, money

The James Allen Cox Foundation for Student Photojournalists has awarded junior Ana Perez a scholarship for a Canon Rebel SL1 SLR camera.

Perez was among five high school photography students nationwide to receive the scholarship. She is a copy editor for The Pearl Post and an editor for Prestige Yearbook.

The Texas-based foundation also awarded the journalism program at Daniel Pearl Magnet High School $1,000 for equipment or supplies for its publications as well as its photography classes.
