Diane Seiger, the school administrative assistant at Daniel Pearl Magnet High School, has been nominated for LifeChanger of the Year.
LifeChanger of the Year is an annual program that awards some of the most hard working educators around the nation. Educators are those who have shown leadership, positive influence and made a valuable change in a student’s life. Seiger has shown these qualifications through her work and her experience. Principal Deb Smith nominated Seiger for the award.
The grand-prize winner receives a $10,000 award, in which half goes to the winner and the other goes to the school.
From the list of nominations, a committee will then decide their top 10.
From those 10, the committee will decide who will receive the grand-prize. Other awards are also give first runner up, second runner up and the seven LifeChangers. All of who will receive a cash prize and a donation towards the school the are employed to.
Nominations closed on Jan. 31 and the winners will be announced in the spring.
