House Flipper 2 is a sequel to the simulation game House Flipper, developed by Frozen District and Empyrean. It will be released on Dec. 14 by Frozen District, Playway and Merge Games. The game was announced with a trailer on Feb. 22, 2022 with information and gameplay about it being slowly unveiled throughout 2022 and 2023.
This simulation game allows players to take beaten down and damaged houses, clean them up, decorate them and sell them for a profit. Along with graphical improvements and new features is a brand new “sandbox mode” that allows players to create their own houses for other players to clean up, renovate or let them make the house of their dreams. The game takes place in the setting of the fictional town of Pinnacove, inspired by small fishermen’s villages. There will be three different regions playable at launch: the suburbs, the coast and the forest. There are plans for three more regions coming at a later date.
Players in “sandbox mode” can make houses from scratch, edit the size and terraform the lot to sculpt the land of the house. Players can also design quests for other players to complete in their completed homes. This means adding dirt and trash for players to clean up, marking walls that need to be repainted and much more.
The houses themselves have improved as well. The houses can now go underground for bunkers or basements and walls no longer have to be a set height. There are also improvements to the grid placement technology and furniture snapping systems, which will allow players to place items more precisely rather than conforming to a set grid.
The main gameplay loop of flipping houses remains intact in “flipper mode” where fans can renovate, demolish and flip houses made by the developers and other players as well. The mode comes replete with new tools and improvements. Some of these changes include players being able to clone styles of one item and paste them on another, making it easier for players to have coherent styles in a room and the ability to change the paint roller size, which will allow players to paint large areas faster. Other changes include the ability to stack items, such as books and much more to create a more cohesive and expansive experience.
House Flipper 2 will be digitally launched for PC on Steam on Dec. 14, followed by PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series on March 21, 2024, along with a physical edition of the game.
