Daniel Pearl Magnet High School (DPMHS) has been accredited for the next six years.
Students and staff helped keep the campus spotless for the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC).
The review for DPMHS took place Feb. 25 and 27 when a WASC team observed classes and the curriculum.
“I had no doubt the school would shine as an exemplary school, but the challenge of being a new principal at the school and getting the report written by deadline was quite overwhelming,” Principal Deborah Smith said.
After the review, WASC was very pleased with the school.
The WASC team put together a presentation on the last day of their visit pointing out the school’s reasons to celebrate and factors to work on.
The school’s initial accreditation lasted three years.
“I am very proud of our six-year term, and it is well-deserved. Our teachers work very hard to provide a rigorous instructional program,” Smith said.
