Check out this year’s a-MAY-zing LA County Fair
Whether you’re a Los Angeles native or simply touring “The City of Angels,” you must check out California’s beloved “LA County Fair,” which opens today.
The LA County Fair will be held in the same spot where it made its debut in 1922 at the Fairplex in Pomona. This is the 101st anniversary of the fair and the theme has been dubbed “Spring into Fair: Where Fun Blooms.” It offers loads of fun from May 5 to 29, open on Thursdays-Sundays and Memorial Day.
For first-timers, expect bright, beautiful lights displayed across the park with games, rides, competitions, concerts and much more. There will also be daily special events, such as the “Latinx/Latin Heritage Weekend,” through the first weekend of the fair, which will be dedicated to the celebration of Cinco De Mayo with live music by MARIACHI USA and entertainment from the culture of Latin America. A Pride event will be held on May 13 as well, which will welcome all members of the LGBTQ+ community with food, activities and a dance party hosted by DJ/Producer Ray Rhodes.
If concerts, games and rides aren’t your style, you’ll be satisfied by the endless amount of the fair’s food stands. From loaded hot dogs to assorted fruit bowls, you’ll find whatever your stomach and heart desire.
Tickets range from $15-25 for adults and $10-12 for children aged 6-12 and seniors 60 and up, depending on the day and time purchased. The fair has made it a priority that their environment is welcoming and accessible for all fair-goers by providing scooters and wheelchairs for people with movement restrictions. Parking is free and spacious but for the safety of everyone attending the LA County fair, there will be COVID-19 guidelines, which are easily accessible through their website.
The LA County Fair’s team is masters of fun, so let them show you a great time as the fair begins its second century of entertainment. Tickets won’t be available forever, so don’t miss your chance to attend this year’s a-MAY-zing LA County Fair.
