Hottest summer concerts to attend for free this summer

Among some of the most affordable activities to partake in this summer break are summer concerts offered for free at venues in Woodland Hills, Los Angeles and Santa Monica.

As the 2019 school year comes to a close, summertime is just around the corner. The time for summer concerts is here but with a limited budget and no reason to pay a cover charge, there are several venues hosting free concerts. All these venues are located within Los Angeles and represent a plethora of styles. Keep in mind that although the event is free, parking may not be, so be sure to plan ahead.

Concerts on the Green: Warner Center

Located in Woodland Hills, Concerts on the Green offers an array of shows throughout the summer. Featuring classic tribute bands and emerging artists, this venue offers variety at no cost. All headliners begin at 6:30 p.m. and performances from emerging artists before at 5:30 p.m.

Twilight on the Pier: Santa Monica Pier

Since 1984, the Santa Monica Pier has been the site of Twilight Dance Series and Twilight Concert Series. Organizers decided to relaunch the series as Twilight on the Pier for summer 2019. Although the official lineups have not been released, the festival will host a blend of SoCal artists and activities every Wednesday beginning Aug. 21, extending to Sept. 18.

Off the 405: Getty Center

Located between Westwood and Sherman Oaks looking over the L.A. skyline, there is no better place to get a view of the city and enjoy a range of bands and artists. Commencing June 22, all Off the 405 performances are scheduled to begin at 6:00 p.m.

Jazz at the LACMA: Los Angeles

Located on Museum Row, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art hosts a variety of concerts. The open-air venue features a diverse lineup of jazz musicians with weekly jazz concerts at 6 p.m. on Fridays as well other genres such as Latin, which begin at 5 p.m. every Saturday. Parking may be a problem as the venue is located on the Miracle Mile.

Concert Series FigFest 2019: Los Angeles.

Located at FIGat7th in Los Angeles, a popular shopping center by day and concert stage by night, Concert Series at FIGFest celebrates its seventh year this summer. Artists from a multitude of genres including rock, hip-hop, pop and EDM perform for free over the span of four Fridays in June starting at 6 p.m.
