Scary, frightening places to visit for this year’s Halloween

Take time to spend this Halloween at any of these spooky places.
Halloween Horror Nights- Universal Studios
The theme of this year’s Halloween Horror Nights is Netflix’s original show “Stranger Things.” Horror Nights is taking place until Nov. 3rd with prices ranging from $69-$229 depending on each package. General admission tickets start at $69 while the Universal Express tickets start at $169. The event is from 7pm-2am. Horror Nights also has multiple mazes with different themes like “Stranger Things,” “Trick R’ Treat,” “The First Purge,” “Halloween 4” and “Poltergeist.”
Annually Six Flags holds Fright Fest from Sept. 15 – Oct. 28. If you have a Six flags pass you can get into Fright Fest for free. Without a pass, tickets are $89.99, but there is an opening sale currently where you can pay $53.99 per ticket. However, this covers admission only. Separate attractions may require you to purchase a maze pass for $15. Themes for the mazes include Sewer of Souls, Hell Fest, AfterMath 2: Chaos is Rising and many more. This year the park is holding a contest to see who can stay in a casket for 30 hours, the winner will be awarded $300, an Express maze pass and a 2019 Golden Season Pass.
Pumpkin Patch- Underwood Family Farms
Underwood Family Farms is a pumpkin patch located in Moorpark, CA. Admissions on weekdays cost $6 and on weekends it’s $20 per person. They are known for their fall festival which is from Sept. 29- Oct. 31. Some activities during the festival include a corn maze, pitch a pumpkin, corn cannon, duck races, tractor-drawn wagon ride and much more. They also have a variety of pumpkins to choose from throughout the farm. Activities are bought by using tickets. Tickets sell for $1 but they also have ticket packages available. Activities cost between 2-10 tickets. There are also over 10 activities that are free with paid admission.
Los Angeles’ Haunted Hayride is located in Griffith Park at the old zoo. Tickets sell from between $35.99-$1895. Just to ride the hayride would cost $35.99. General admission with all the attractions costs $44.99. Scare zones include Purgatory, Haunted Hayride, House of Shadows and Trick or Treat. Depending on the day, hours range from 7:00pm-10:30pm and 7:00pm-12:00am.
The Halloween Ghost Train is a family-friendly train ride through Griffith Park. This event is an annual fundraiser for the Los Angeles Live Steamers Railroad Museum. The twenty-three-minute train ride takes you through a world of fairy tales. Dragons, fire, old folk tales, spiders and clowns. Ticket costs vary from $25-$30. This train ride will be held for 10 nights starting on Oct. 13, they are open from 7-10pm.
