Throwing it back to the wild west, “Red Dead Redemption 2” offers a wide range of possibilities for chaotic action.

Five years after the release of “Grand Theft Auto V,” Rockstar Games prepares for the third installment of the western-themed “Red Dead” series, “Red Dead Redemption 2” on Oct. 26.

Though the game title includes the number two, this installment will be a prequel to 2010’s “Red Dead Redemption.” The story follows outlaw Arthur Morgan, a member of the Van der Linde gang, as he must live the life of wanted man after a bank robbery gone wrong. John Marston, the main protagonist of the second “Red Dead” will make an appearance as well as it’s villain, Dutch Van der Linde.

Gameplay will revolve around an open world environment in a choice of either a first-person view or third-person view and interactions with non-playable characters, which will align with how people of certain areas will react to the player; this includes relationships with fellow gang members in camp, local shop owners throughout the open world and every non-playable character. Living as a criminal in open land, hunting will play a big part in order to have food, including fish, birds and land grazers.

Customization will be a big factor players can enjoy, as they will be able to customize the main protagonist, horses and camps. Clothing choice can also affect the players stamina depending on certain weather environments. A variety of horse breeds will be included and players can build a bond with their horse, making it behave better during gameplay.

The game will also feature online multiplayer along with the single-player story. Similar to “Grand Theft Auto V,” online will be open world and will receive content updates over time. The online multiplayer open beta however is set to be released in November, a month after its initial release.

“Red Dead Redemption 2” will be available for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on Oct. 26.
