With every chair occupied and not one spare inch between the cluster of spectators pressed against the walls, hundreds of captivated eyes were fixed on each of the performers at the assembly on April 12. Cheers, claps and snaps of approval emanated from the audience every few seconds.

Thirty students opted to perform their own Get Lit style poetry at the school’s Poetry Slam. The assembly was organized in the hopes that new students might discover a passion for spoken word poetry and proceed to cultivate that new found inspiration in next year’s Get Lit team.
