Prepare ahead for endless projects and miserable, sleepless nights by making sure you have all of the proper materials to do so. Some necessities are:
Reading and/or desk lamp
Your personal laptop
Stapler and staples
Printer and printer paper (very important)
Pens, pencils and a sharpener
Notebooks of all varieties
A few folders
Any more miscellaneous items you think you may need (tape, scissors, ruler, highlighter pens, rulers)
Graphing calculator
Stackable desk trays for organizing papers
Kitchen Items
Whether you plan on cooking or getting a meal plan, it will not hurt have kitchen utensils and some spare food in your dorm room or community kitchen.
Basic cooking utensils if you plan on making food
A couple of plates, bowls and mugs. Bringing silverware would be wise as well.

Trash bags
All-purpose cleaner
Can opener
Microwave
Tea kettle
Instant foods (Ramen, Oatmeal, Hot Chocolate, Mac ‘n Cheese)
TIP: Consider buying snacks and Instant food in bulk.
