Students get chance to connect with school police this Friday
February 21, 2017
On behalf of Chief Steven Zipperman, the Los Angeles School Police Department (LASPD) would like to invite the students to the Community Building Day, Ice Cream with a Cop.
LASPD officers will join Daniel Pearl Magnet High School students on campus during Fiesta Friday and give out ice cream for the student body.
“Part of the work I do to develop good working relationships with law enforcement and community stakeholders like Daniel Pearl Magnet High School,” Deputy City Attorney Jackie Lawson said.
Many other city figures will be at the Community Building Day, including the City Attorney Community Resource Specialist, Jack Kayajian.
“In my opinion, Ice Cream With a Cop will have a positive impact on the community, because it is a great way to engage students, community leaders, and law enforcement to increase trust between police and the public,” Lawson said.
