Many who appreciate the art of indie rock are infatuated with Hinds. Their debut album “Leave Me Alone” was released early January and has taken the world by storm.
With Carlotta Cosials and Ana Perrote on guitar and vocals, Ade Martin on bass, and Amber Grimbergen on drums, they are the spanish Sleater Kinney who meets Mac DeMarco. The first track off the album “Garden” shows how much the quartet worships Mac DeMarco through its guitar riff and “San Diego” is their perfect California love song.
Cosials and Perrote originally started a duo in 2011, then split for a while but eventually reformed in 2013. In 2014, the four girls officially formed together. They are currently under three major labels: Lucky Number, Burger Records and Mom + Pop.
They have played major festivals such as Festival Internacional de Benicàssim in Benicàssim, Spain, South by Southwest in Austin, Texas, and Burgerama in Santa Ana, California.
Earlier in the year the well established artists toured France, Switzerland, Italy and Australia. With their immense virtuosity they have turned their Europe and UK tour into a substantial phenomenon by adding shows in the United States.
Hinds formerly known as Deers, were legally threatened due to another band similarly named. By early 2015 the group was officially named Hinds after female deers.
